This free lecture is an introduction to visceral massage therapy. The full course is Saturday, May 3rd-Sunday, May 4th.
Marty Ryan, LMT will be discussing visceral bodywork; what it is, what its used for, and how therapists are educated.
If you are not familiar with visceral manipulation, the modality is based on the specific placement of soft manual forces to encourage the normal mobility, tone and motion of the viscera (internal organs) and their connective tissues. Visceral bodywork is good for individuals experiencing pain, dysfunction, or imbalance in the abdominal area or related to internal organs. It can be helpful for conditions like digestive issues, chronic pain, and those with a history of trauma or surgery. Additionally, it may be beneficial for conditions like pelvic floor dysfunction, infertility, and women’s health issues.
