Born and raised in Hawaii and treained by his Tutu (Grandmother) Helen in the traditional Hawaiian ways of Lomilomi: Kumu Kauhi, a practitioner and teacher for almost 40 years, will share his knowledge and culture of “Traditional” Hawaiian Lomilomi
Introduction to Lomilomi
In this course Kamu will cover:
- Pule (prayer), the importance of , and the foundation prayer plays in Hawaiian Culture, Lomilomi, and everyday life.
- Untroduction of Ho’oponopono, and making oneself right in your Pu’uwai (heart), Na’au (Head/Mind), and ‘Uhane (soul) BEFORE working on others.
- History of Hawaii, the role each individual played in sustaining everyday life in Hawaiian Society, and the important connection Hawaiians had to the ‘aina (land).
- Influence of Western culture on the Hawaiian Monarchy, language, cultural practices, and the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom.
- Body mechanics, draping, and techniques to help practitioenrs work smarter not harder.
